The Pag carnival has a long tradition. The Winter Carnival is organized for the local population, and it begins on the first Saturday after the Epiphany and it lasts until Ash Wednesday. During this period, dances (tanci) are organized every Saturday. On the final three days, the carnival festivities move to the central town square. The Summer Carnival is held on the last weekend in July with the aim of enriching the entertainment on offer during the tourist season.
